Position: Vice President, Operations

The VP of Operations will join a team of 13 staff members in a friendly, focused, fast-paced and entrepreneurial office environment where we are currently serving 120 College Chapters and 36,000 student members. We are currently in the expansion phase poised for major growth.

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and re-defining job responsibilities, procedures and projects for The National Society of Leadership and Success. The VP of Operations will partner closely with senior management on leading the growth of the organization, developing the Society into new markets, and managing staff members in accomplishing goals. We are looking for someone who knows not only effective delegation, but who enjoys and has experience implementing and executing projects themselves.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • An in-depth knowledge of educational setting is beneficial, but not required
  • The successful candidate must have an entrepreneurial spirit, the desire to work in a changing environment and have strong leadership, management, organizational, and communications skills
  • Excellent change management, time-management and motivational skills are imperative
  • A history of documented success is desired helping small to mid size businesses grow.
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects that have overlapping deadlines
  • Some travel may be required - minimal

Duties and Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Manage day-to-day office operations
  • Manage administrative and support staff
  • Project management and self implementation/execution of special projects
  • Counsel senior management on the development of existing and new projects
  • Direct the ongoing development/updates of company structure and systems
  • Develop ongoing procedural efficiencies

Marketing and Market Development:

  • Manage marketing projects, ensuring successful development and production of marketing materials

Human Resources:

  • Recruit and interview qualified candidates, and manage the orientation process for new employees
  • Write, monitor and manage consistent adherence to companywide policies and procedures
  • Define and delineate job functions and responsibilities
  • Manage personnel files
  • Coordinate and manage annual review process for all employees
  • Manage staff members in successfully accomplishing performance objectives goals and metrics
  • Provide fair and general Human Resources support on a day-to-day basis

Business Growth Strategy:

  • Partner with President on the planning and development of new markets, as well the expansion of existing markets
  • Identify growth opportunities and create business cases for expansion into new areas

Position: Intern Recruiter

The Intern Recruiter is responsible for recruiting interns on college campuses across the United States and Canada for the National Society of Leadership and Success.  Identifying talent, promoting the organization, and effectively communicating expectations to potential interns, the Intern Recruiter will support the overall growth plan for the National Society of Leadership and Success.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the process of campus life. The Internship Recruiter will serve as a representative of the Society and as such must have exceptional presentation, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills as well as a passion for leadership and motivation.  A strong desire to develop future leaders, and make a difference in the lives of college students, is one of the foundations of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting heavy phone contact with colleges and universities across the United States and Canada to find an intern
  • Placing ads in school newspapers, Career Service Center sites, and speaking with faculty
  • Conducting extensive phone-screen interviews
  • Creating excitement about internship opportunity with candidates and securing commitment from qualified applicants
  • Selecting candidates for placement in the National Society of Leadership and Success internship program
  • Effectively and dynamically training the selected internship candidates
  • Efficiently transitioning the trained interns to the Internship Support Specialist
  • Working collaboratively with the Internship Support Specialist in selection of interns and in their continued development throughout the semester
  • Publicizing and marketing the Society by attending local, regional and national conferences each year
  • Working with academic advisors to create for-credit internships wherever possible
  • Creating systematic efficiencies and best-practices in the intern recruiting process

A Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • This position requires exceptional phone, interpersonal, and communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks with an eye on deadlines
  • Public Speaking ability desired, but not required
  • Self-starter orientation a must - ability to work independently and to self-direct one’s activities is essential
  • Creativity and marketing mind-set a plus – innovation in outreach initiatives desired
  • Familiarity with web tools for job posting and communicating desired
  • Minimal travel, to promote programs, is required
  • Compensation is based on experience

Position: Inside Sales (Chapter Development Coordinator)
Salary: Salary plus commission
Institution: The National Society of Leadership and Success
Location: Hoboken, NJ (right outside Manhattan)

Will build relationships with educators and administrators to enlist their college in The National Society of Leadership and Success.
The successful candidate will have strong customer service and sales abilities, as well as a first-hand knowledge of educational settings. The Chapter Development Coordinator will serve as the representative of the Society and as such must have truly exceptional presentation, communication and organizational skills as well as a passion for leadership and motivation.

We provide you with the database, scripts, training, and marketing materials. You are expected to make phone calls from our office during the hours of 9am to 6pm.  You will also follow up on leads generated at various conferences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting heavy phone contact with administrators and educators on campuses within a specific territory.
  • Building strong relationships with administrators and educators.
  • Publicizing and marketing the Society within a specific territory by attending regional and national conferences.

A Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • This position requires someone with exceptional sales, phone, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimal travel is required to attend national educational conferences.
  • Compensation will include a combination of salary, commissions and bonuses based on sales, profitability and client retention and satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and to self-direct one’s activities is essential.
  • Strong work ethic, honest and trustworthy
