How It All Works

The presentations are delivered to your school
via satellite videoconference.

The presentations are delivered to your school via satellite broadcast or video. Most schools have the ability to receive satellite – KU or C Band works. If your school does not have satellite conferencing capabilities, you can receive the conferences via VHS cassette. Some schools prefer to receive videos so they can show the presentations at the time of their choice. Videos must be returned one month after receiving them. See calendar for dates.

Students receive additional benefits that reinforce the concepts of success offered by the speaker series.

Students Taking Ownership

The more students feel ownership, the more likely they are to have a vested interest in promoting the presentations and group meetings. We have tools and resources that make it easier to target motivated students who want to take on the responsibility of president for the Society chapter on your campus. We work along side you and this student as he or she sets up the Society, as an effective student organization. We supply him or her with the constitution and promotional materials. This student, with the direct assistance from our national office, makes your life easier by getting this program off the ground.

Membership Requirements

To fulfill the requirements of membership, a student must attend three videoconferences, three consecutive Success Networking Team meetings, and participate in the three-hour interactive video based Leadership Training Day. The Leadership Training Day is held once a semester. After completion of these requirements the student is issued his/her certificate of leadership training by The National Society of Leadership and Success.

Success Networking Team (SNT)

Success Networking Teams are the catalyst behind the Society - they get the students to take action. They are what empower students to make positive changes in their lives, as well as feel connected to a group that believes in them. This Success Networking Team concept is used by many of the most successful people worldwide, and in many ways Success Networking Teams are the most important part of the Society.

Success Networking Teams meet twice a month. Sometimes groups like to meet right before the broadcasts and others like to meet over dinner. These teams help students hold each other accountable to commitments towards their goals.

We know that in order to empower students to follow through with positive actions, they need consistent motivation as well as accountability rather than a one-time lecture. The continuity of the program was designed to keep students motivated long-term and help them take continued action towards improving their personal growth and well-being.

Student Membership

The videoconference presentations held on campus are open to all students and are usually promoted campus-wide. When students become members, they receive numerous additional benefits. Different from other honorary societies, the Society has a one-time only, lifetime fee of sixty-five dollars. For any member joining from means other than the Society invitations, five dollars is returned to your chapter to be used for local operations. Two dollars goes toward national scholarships students can submit to win. The balance is distributed between the support and services each chapter receives.

In addition to the presentations, members have access to these privileges:

  • Mentoring and advisement opportunities with online success coaches
  • Use of a success resource library we give your school
  • Online access to view 15 additional minutes of each Society presenter’s best content that they did not have time to cover during the videoconference
  • Access to a job bank of employers looking to hire students from The National Society of Leadership and Success
  • Access to a nationwide network of other Society members
  • A comprehensive list of leadership and success articles and resources
  • Personalized letters of recommendation to help members secure the job of their choice

Members also receive

A complete membership package comprised of a Society membership pin, certificate of membership, Society car decal and Society T-Shirt. Members joining the same year the Society is formed on your campus are considered founding members and they also receive an executive Society pen, and are listed on the Charter Certificate sent to your school when the chapter is established. All membership items are mailed to the advisor after the student completes all of his or her membership requirements. Students should then be given their certificates and membership pins at an induction ceremony at the end of the semester.

Society Invitations

Society invitations, an efficient tool to generate interest and kick-off the program, are sent to students inviting them to participate before the first conference. The national office does all the work and helps cover the expense to help send out these invitations.

“92% of Society Members landed the job they wanted upon graduating.”
*2003 National Survey

Students who land the big jobs right out of college have spent time during college making connections and networking to accomplish their goals.

The Society teaches students how to make those connections and includes them in a nationwide network where they are able to interact with other likeminded students across the country. The network consists of students and alumni as well as career professionals dedicated to helping individuals achieve their future dream careers.
